US National Security Strategy Prioritizes AI and Quantum Computing

Select Language

The United States’ new national security strategy, issued during President Donald Trump’s administration, emphasizes artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing as core national interests, while omitting any mention of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The strategy highlights America’s focus on maintaining global leadership in advanced technological fields, with AI revolutionizing automated systems across defense, healthcare, and the economy, and quantum computing promising exponentially faster and more powerful problem-solving capabilities than traditional computers. Despite the growing role of cryptocurrencies and blockchain in the financial sector—where blockchain ensures digital asset security and transparency, and cryptocurrencies have established a presence in global markets—these technologies are not included in the current national security priorities. This approach indicates that the US government has yet to fully integrate cryptocurrencies and blockchain into its security framework, suggesting that further clarification or attention may be required. The strategy will guide the country’s future scientific and defense initiatives aimed at sustaining technological superiority and strengthening its global posture, at a time when governments worldwide are increasing investments in AI and quantum computing.
