Pie Finance Secures $5M Seed Funding Led by Variant and Coinbase Ventures

Select Language

Pie Finance has completed a $5 million seed funding round led by prominent investment firm Variant and crypto investment entity Coinbase Ventures. The funds will support the launch of Pie Finance’s new on-chain marketplace designed to enable the trading of locked Solana staking positions. This Solana blockchain-based platform aims to provide users with greater flexibility by allowing them to sell their staked crypto assets, which are traditionally locked and non-tradable, thereby increasing liquidity and expanding investment opportunities. Solana is known for its high-speed, low-fee blockchain favored for decentralized applications and finance protocols. Staking involves locking Solana tokens to support network security and operations in exchange for rewards, but these assets are usually not immediately tradable, limiting liquidity for investors. Pie Finance’s innovation seeks to make Solana staking more flexible and investor-friendly, potentially boosting the Solana economy and popularizing staking. Through this marketplace, investors will be able to buy and sell staking positions with varying durations and terms, better addressing cash flow needs during staking periods. However, as a new and technical platform, users must remain mindful of security and market volatility risks. The successful funding reflects growing confidence in the industry and the increasing significance of the Solana blockchain, enabling Pie Finance to enhance its product and expand its global user base.
