AI Web3 Wallet Hold Station Suffers $100,000 Security Breach

Select Language

AI Web3 wallet developer Hold Station experienced a security breach resulting in the theft of assets valued at approximately $100,000. The attack was detected by BlockSec, which reported that the attacker transferred assets across multiple blockchain networks, including World Chain, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Bera Chain, and zkSync. The stolen assets totaled around $66,000 and included WLD, USD1, BNB, and BERA tokens. Further investigation revealed that these assets were initially distributed across various chains but were later consolidated on the Ethereum network into 22.41 ETH before being moved to the Bitcoin network, where they were converted into approximately 0.755 BTC. Hold Station’s team has issued an on-chain message and is attempting to negotiate with the attacker to recover the losses. Hold Station is an advanced AI-based Web3 wallet that allows users to securely store and trade cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchain networks. While Web3 technology provides users with decentralized control over digital assets, it also introduces security risks, especially when hackers obscure their identities by moving assets between chains. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for robust security measures and rapid response mechanisms in the crypto sector. Moving forward, Hold Station and other Web3 platforms must enhance their security protocols to protect users and restore confidence.
