The cryptocurrency market witnessed liquidations totaling $267 million over the past 24 hours. According to data from Coinglass, as reported by Chain Kachra, long position liquidations amounted to $180 million, while short positions accounted for $87.3 million. Bitcoin long positions saw liquidations of $60.86 million, with short positions at $29.64 million. Similarly, Ethereum long positions recorded $55.94 million in liquidations, and short positions $30.11 million. During this period, 92,772 traders worldwide had their positions liquidated. The largest single liquidation occurred on the BTC-USD pair at Hyperliquid, nearing $5.31 million. In the crypto market, liquidation means traders fail to maintain their positions, leading to automatic asset sales, typically triggered by sharp bullish or bearish movements.
