Gana Payment Project Suffers $3.1 Million Loss in BSC Hack

Select Language

The Gana Payment project has experienced a severe security breach on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), resulting in a financial loss exceeding $3.1 million. The attacker initially transferred 1,140 BNB tokens, valued at approximately $1.04 million, to Tornado Cash. Subsequently, the stolen funds were moved to the Ethereum network, where about 346 ETH, worth nearly $1 million, were again deposited into Tornado Cash. Currently, the hacker holds 346 ETH on the Ethereum network, valued at around $1.046 million. The addresses involved in the incident include 0x2e8a8670b734e260cedbc6d5a05532264aae5c38 and 0xd10ed57534dc63f2ea9dc0cb0096086f3cc8fa4d, while the hacker’s Ethereum address is identified as 0x7a503e3ab9433ebf13afb4f7f1793c25733b3cca. Gana Payment is a project aimed at facilitating digital payments on BSC, a popular blockchain platform hosting numerous cryptocurrencies and DeFi projects. Despite blockchain’s immutable and transparent nature, such security attacks highlight ongoing risks, especially when hackers use privacy tools like Tornado Cash to conceal their identity. This incident underscores the urgent need for cryptocurrency and DeFi projects to enhance their security measures to protect users’ funds. Beyond financial loss, such thefts undermine market confidence, necessitating the adoption of advanced security systems and monitoring methods by blockchain platforms to prevent future attacks.
